Australian farmers and their animals getting support they need

Rural Aid are creating stronger futures for Australia’s farmers and their families and do so through a unique and impactful initiative delivered with the support of partners such as AgCoTech. The “partners in sustainability” initiative provides direct support to farmers in need  – improving their herd nutrition, while helping reduce the nation’s carbon footprint.

Advantages for business: A unique and contemporary way to provide farming families with targeted support that improves profitability, herd nutrition and animal welfare – helping their long-term sustainability while enhancing your social, environmental and corporate credentials.

Your business generously donates to Rural Aid. The donation is used to purchase AgCoTech’s greenhouse gas friendly livestock nutrition blocks. Rural Aid distributes these blocks to eligible farmers in return for the supporting carbon emissions form. Rural Aid submits collected carbon credits to AgCoTech for sale on the voluntary market, retaining 25pc of the sale proceeds.

Businesses can be seen as leaders in “ethical giving”, enhancing their corporate credentials and offsetting their greenhouse gas emissions by partnering with Rural Aid and AgCoTech.

Advantages for farmers: Farmers that need a helping hand can access AgCoTech’s Abatement 600 livestock nutrition blocks and improve the performance and profitability of their herd/flock.

“Rural Aid is proud to offer our primary producers a range of tools to help them get out of a tight spot. Lick blocks are now a part of a Rural Aid toolkit that also contains financial assistance, hay deliveries, counselling sessions, water tanks and water deliveries. In addition to the traditional benefits associated with supplement feeding, these AgCoTech lick blocks have the added advantage of reducing methane emissions from grazing livestock."- John Warlters, CEO, Rural Aid

"We have a received some blocks from the project and now our cattle look healthier and grow faster. Before the emission control blocks it was difficult to bring the cattle home at night, today they return home more easily because they know the emission control blocks are waiting for them."

- Mr. Lae, Farmer from Nongchong Village

"AgCoTech's approach is unique - with a focus not only on reducing emissions, but also positively impacting the social and economic circumstances of Laotian farmers, and improving animal welfare. There must be real and meaningful action to preserve this planet, and our partnership with AgCoTech will allow us to contribute."
